Tis very nice. I'd seen Andy Nott and Dave Charlton's repaints but hadn't managed to find any photos of it. I do think it would look even better without the 4FTS anniversary writing and the pyramid...

I'm personally a big fan of it, miles better than last years 'chav' scheme IMHO.

It's not for the Red Arrows, that is the solo display Hawk Smiley

This is the famous Black Arrows. Treble One Squadron with their all-black Hawker Hunters taken at the Farnborough Air Show in the 1950s. Predecessors of the Reds.

...

Not sure I like that new Hawk scheme. I expect I'll get used to it. Undecided

I'm not totally sure about the actual details but I believe that 4 Flight Training School have some history connected with Egypt. Smiley

We sure do, Red Arrows, FRADU Hawks (Royal Navy), 208(R) Squadron and 100 Squadron. Thats it as far I can think.

Hey F3, saw this first via UKAR too. My FS version of this Hawk is currently under improvment to match the real thing, thanks to these photos!

My previous version of this years (so slightly incorrect, but not far off) is available on the 208 display website

www.208display.com

Along with Dave's version of last years bird.

Also available here at SimV. The updated one will be around soon.

The RAF effectively was the British security force in the middle east in the 20s and 30s, so many RAF Sqns have middle-eastern connections...
