Yep, seems to be getting a trend.

The annual airshow at Koksijde will be organised one last time this year. It's decided that the runway at this military base will be shortened to one third of it's current length. This means only the seakings will remain at the base. But this also means jets and other planes won't be able to land there for the airshow! So it gets scraped.

They are investigating if a pure helicopter show would be feasable...

Sad.

Sorry to hear that Kris. It's an all too familiar story I'm afraid.

I know how you feel Omag. The local Air Force Base used to have yearly airshows, but was cancelled several years ago due to the war Sad

Things don't look too promising for Airbourne after this year. Make the most of it while you can. There's a growing anti-aviation lobby that would like to see the back of these events. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/southern_counties/4577730.stm

We get the Kecskemet airshow every other year Steve, there are no others barring the odd fly-by at the local airfield by something as exciting as a C-172 Roll Eyes
Aviation wise I'm in something of a backwater. This summer no airshow, next summer however I'll be at Kecskemet as usual 8)

This thread prompts me to ask a question.

Which country (barring the U.S.) has the largest number of airshows?

I would be happy to think I could get away with putting a lot of money on the UK... Smiley Particularly with the growing number of smaller shows appearing now, and the continued growth of the "warbird" market...
