The learning curve starts here:

The Stupid Idiot's Guide to Making an Airplane with Gmax

But I would seriously think about trying to pay a little money for something different (FSDS? Roll Eyes), as the last I heard about Gmax was that it was on its way out.  No more support, no more updates, etc.

Don't discard gmax just yet.  It's still a viable modelling tool.  IT depends a lot on whether Microsoft can eke out the new eyecandy from the x file received from gmax (and other modelling programs) with the new makemdl that's surely to come out.

Just buy abacus' FSDSv2 (v3 is out now) when they have a sale. I got mine for something like $15 when I ordered two other titles. You can get three titles for around $40. I got FDSDv2, Custom Panel Designer (which goes nowhere and does nothing at all) and Warbirds Extreme for around $36.

Time to make the donuts...
