Ultimate Traffic aircrafts (Read 327 times)

Before I got UT, I had PAI aircrafts and traffic.

A week ago I read up that PAI aircrafts were FPS hogs and crappy looking.

Then I got the UT and had to rid of all PAI aircrafts that my Ultimate Traffic came with.

I then proceed to download AI-Aardvark Boeing and MD aircrafts and repaints, started at 2pm (I have cable modem so that was the easiest part)

Then I downloaded FSPainter 777's and A340's plus A320's.

Filing everything and setting it up was a pain!
Aircraft by aircraft, texture into aircraft folder...modifiying aircraft.cfg......etc

9 hours later I have ful domestic fleet (USA) and full operators of 777's and 747's, DC-10's, MD-11 and MD-11F and popular paints of airlines from other countries.

Just tested it out and the FPS is now much better and the AI aircrafts looks so good coming in finals and taking off.

Worth it to me.

UT has all the airlines around the world...you wouldn't have wasted those 9 hours because UT would make everything for you Wink

That's right, I didn't change the airline, just the aircrafts.

UT uses PAI aircrafts which are FPS killers and crappy looking.

Now my AI looks almost real  Cheesy not some octagon looking engines like PAI has.

Quite frankly, I don't really get too personal with the AI aircraft...I just like seeing real tails...and for me the FPS are decent all around... Wink

While on the UT topic let me hijack the post and ask, is there a way that I can place all the Flight One AI aircraft folders that are filling my FS9 "aircraft" folder into just one, or even hide them completly?

It is a pain searching past all the AI folders to locate a specific aircraft that I actually can fly Wink

Also is there a way that I can change the way they are labled in sim for example instead of seeing:

"Flight One AI Boeing 747"

it would read

Boeing 747? or American Airlines 747 something other than the paragraph that is now default.

Obviously it is a AI aircraft becasue if I was flying it I wouldnt be seeing the labels, LMAO.

I myself have much PAI stuff and I can say that my framearates are fine - I get my ususal 12-15fps (*hangs head in shame*).
Yea, some of the PAI aircraft do look bad, but certain ones aren't too bad, and for me PAI is a fitting, good source of AI. Wink

There is a way...just turn off Aircraft Manufacturer in the Traffic Options...shows your the actual aircraft maker...like Boeing, Airbus, SAAB, etc etc Wink

Don't think you can change that because UT looks in the aircrafts folder to assign aircrafts.

Hell you can assign an PMDG 747 as a AI aircraft, now lets see what a major framerate hit that would be with a few of them flying around you  Grin

I did that for awhile. Let me tell you, when you have the PMDG 737, 747, and Beech 1900 as AI flying in KLAX is between 0.6 ~ 2.3FPS However makes for amazing screenies.

Thanks.

I was afraid of that, wonder if there is a way i could put all into a "AI Folder" the change a config setting somewhere so the sim knows where to find them??

HMM looks like I got some playing around to do this morning!
