Hey all,
Just a little question about AI. I've removed the default airliners and installed quite a lot of PAI packages.
however, because I've removed the default airliners, once busy airports are now barren and empty. And I have the traffic quantity slider up to 100%.....

So, does anybody know of a way to increase the amount of AI for the percentage shown on the slider? (for example, if, at 100% on the slider, there were 10 aircraft, how could I tweak it so, at 100% on the slider, there were 20 aircraft?)

Thanks, and help much appreciated 8)

P.S. does all of this make sense? I have a tendency to confuse people by the way I talk/explain things Roll Eyes Cheesy

At 100% the sim is already showing all of the programmed ai flights. The only way to increase the number of flights is to add more.

Choices are to download more ai or write your own.

One ai package I have used is '2004 International Airline AI Traffic-by Chester'.http://www.simviation.com/fs2004jets43.htm

The package replaces the default airliners in the default flight plans with real liveries flying the default schedules. In addition the new ai ac include animated service vehicles and pushback tug. At least this will get you back to your original traffic level

It is a manual install and requires using TTool, included with the package. The install instructions are quite complete.

"I've removed the default airliners and installed quite a lot of PAI packages."

AI traffic cannot be increased by "removed the default airliners"

AI traffic is increased by installing additional traffic_other.bgl files; one can have as many traffic_.bgl files as there is discspace.

The simplest solution to maxing-out AI is to buy and install Ultimate Traffic The only complaint I've ever heard about UT is there's too much traffic

I bought "Just Flight, Traffic 2004" and kicked all the traffic levels to maximum.  It adds a lot of AI traffic ie: Southwest, America West, United, Delta.  The only problem is that you have to modify the flight plans enroute altitudes to be more realistic for the correct altitudes for direction of flight.  The ATC function does need a little work because it does break the rules a little bit in separation of traffic like there is NONE.  Wink
