Great edit.
The condesation effect is very neat, but the heat blur... It seems a little odd that the thrust wouldn't be more "directional", it looks like the thrust is at idle and just floating away...
Even though the plane is at a high angle of attack, the thrust isn't affected by it, like it is in your edit. Unless of course it is at idle, but that doesn't seem to be the case in this edit.
It's hard to explain, but I think you know what I mean, right?

Hmm, I can see what you're saying, but on this one, it's on it's final leg (I know, impossible to tell for sure
), and it's not exactly kicking out the thrust. Plus, I think the only times heat haze looks directional, is when the camera is moving with the aircraft, therefore giving the motion blur effect to it. I've not really gone for a shot as if it's been taken from a camera, following the aircraft.

Static camera
Of course, on the second image, you can see that the Tornado is kicking out a good deal more thrust, and a lot of heat is being given off, in that sort of 'swishy' effect.

I think it's all in the speed of the plane. If the plane is moving fast, the heat blur looks more 'directional'. If the plane is moving slow, the heat blur looks more 'diffused'.
A very nice edit, Tweek. I think the vortices are very nice and the heat effect is great too, just a bit too much IMHO.

Thanks all the same

I think the vortices are nice... I just think there's a bit too much heat blur in your edit. What you see in the picture is not heat blur, but condensation.

Ah, thought you meant there was too much condensation. My mistake!
