As you'll know, many decent aircraft addons either have an intall program of some sort or an uninstall built into them. When they are loaded, the program is added to the list from the Start menu 'All Programs' selection. It's now goto the state that the All Programs selection is jamed full of all the aircraft i've got making accessing other non FS programes much harder.

How can I remove them without uninstaling the programes themselves?

Right-click on it, delete. Smiley

That'll remove the start menu entry. Programs still work.

Or, navigate to both
C:/documents and settings/user name/start menu/programs
C:/documents and settings/All Users/start menu/programs

Delete the ones you don't want on the menu.

Go to the "Options" in your Down-loader menu, and re-direct your downloads to the "Desktop" instead of "Program Files", where you can instantly see them... Wink... Grin...!

After you have successfully installed them manually in the correct places in your Flight Sim folder, you can then delete the original folder from your Desktop...
...sorted...
That's what I do... Wink...!

The items in the start menu are just shortcuts... delete away(might want to make sure you know where the actual files are on your HD first, though).
I have two folders in my MS Games folder: one for add-ons I haven't yet installed, and one for backup versions of installed add-ons. I keep a shortcut to each in my Start menu.

I find it less taxing on my hard drive to keep links of addons in a text file. only a/c that i had a hard time finding  do i keep a backup. also, i created a list (which is here on simV)(im about to update it within the next week) of the CD files in case i need to grab a backup copy for FS.

I also tell addon exe installers to point the shortcut to the FS-addon folder in my start menu.

I can't say that I agree with that. If the authors knew what they were doing they would disable the Uninstall feature when compiling these auto-install files. I haven't dared try it myself but in some cases I can see the default Unistal.exe file being overwritten & causing problems if you wish to uninstall the sim itself. The best method for using these files is to redirect the auto-install path to a Temp folder as the others have pointed out.
