I seem to have contrapped spysherrif - a trojan disguised as a spyware-scanner. This little sucker makes my PC soooo slow, and I don't even know how to start cleaning this mess up! I did a search on the web, but I don't know any of the forums that give advice, so I'm a bit biased! Does anyone have experience in removing this invader?

I really must crack up my protection soon!

Sad

Cheers,

Omag

I know how you feel.

AVG do a free one. I've had it for a week or so now, ever since I threw norton out the window(s).

Can't remember where the download page is but it's there somewhere. Try it, it can't be worse than Norton. Grin

I had a trojan long ago [I told you all about this] that affected my system so back, I had to clean out my computer AGAIN shortly after cleaning it already. But thank God that there were no personal files in my computer at the time.

The trojan let a ugly wallpaper on my desktop with a warning message that instructs the user to go to such-n-such place [whatever] and the wallpaper was permanent.

Here's a tip guys:

The next time you clean out your computer, make sure that your firewalls and antivirus programs are installed PRIOR to connecting to the next.

PS: Did I mention that I also got hit by the blaster worm at the same time? Roll Eyes

Use Adaware.  It will get rid of most problems, and is a free download.

What Woody said, except I had rather poor results with AVG.  Avast hasn't let me down yet.
