THE OLDE SIMV NEWSPAPERE, 1941
It appears that the elite Squadron of German pilots are going to attempt a raid on London soon. We don't know when, but what we do know is the aircraft that they will be flying, as well as the aircraft that the British will be flying.
Below we have a list of the aircraft, for those who will be involved in the "Wargames":
Spitfire Mk II (NK-K)
here
Scout aircraft for the British (Scottish Aviation Pioneer)
here
Messerschmitt Me-109
here
Heinkel He-111 (It's a CFS2/FS2002 model, works fine in FS2004)
here, He111H6.zip
Messerschmitt Me-163 Komet
here
As of yet, we still do not have much information, but we expect more information as the week progresses.

DOH!!!!!!!!!!
Thats an awful small file size. Is it a self loader pkg compressed? I normally would not ask a question like that but I'm at work with no way of knowing whats in the file. They tend to frown on flying on company time

The Spit suffers from only having 512x512 bitmaps for the components (one for each wing, one for the fuselage, one for the tail) so it looks kind of fuzzy. Wonder how fast I can do a 1024x1024 repaint?

I think textures are the least of our worries... the handling on that particular Spitfire is pretty awful. It tends to jerk up and down when you try pulling a high G turn... Are there any more stable Spitfires out there? *goes looking*
If you don't know what I mean, try it out yourself
I've found this one which handles a bit better:
http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=ftp&DLID=37819
Not sure if it's on SimV, but I couldn't seem to find it
Should probably get people's verdicts before deciding.

OK, so we should make a choice.
Spitfire Mk II
Spitfire Mk IXc
Spitfire LF9e
My personal favourite out of them three... the Spit Mk IXc. An absolute dream to fly (unlike that particular Mk II) and it has rounded wingtips (unlike the LF9e)
. Plus, the livery's nicer!

That's always a big factor! I prefer that Mk IXc as well, but I think the idea was a Battle of Britain setting...

Well it can't all be 100% accurate, eh?
If there is some way of giving the Mk II the flight dynamics of the IXc, then I'd be more than happy to fly it.

Aren't the flight dynamics programmed into the .Air file or does that file also include the model and such? If not the taje the IX airfile and rename it to the one in the MK II package.. copy and overwrite...or am I now talking utter nonsense?
If in the CFG files...
Copy all stuff underneath the Main inf lik Ui_manufacturer and such and put that in th MKII file...?

Excellent idea, Soui! It worked a treat
OK, if you want the decent Spitfire flight dynamics, follow these steps:
1. Download BOTH marks of Spitfire (duh!).
Spitfire Mk II
Spitfire Mk IXc
2. Once extracted, take the AIR file from the IXc, and rename it SPTNKK.air. Remember to include the .air when renaming, else it just saves it as a File.
3. Copy SPTNKK.air into the SPTNKK folder, overwriting the previous AIR file.
4. Go fly with your reworked Mk II!
Simple!
