Heard this program does it all. I use Yahoo as my default web page myself. I've seen it advertised here. Is it worth the change? Enough positive feed back and I may switch to it this evening. Wink

If you want a second opinion, then YES. Grin

However, be warned that Microsoft's websites [like the Zone or Windows Update] might not work at all with Fire Fox. But don't worry, you'll still have Internet Explorer [it'll just be dormant on your hard drive].

Reckon I'll give er a go this evening then. "Black Japan"? What's that look like? That would be cool considering my whole Rig is black. As for the Zone. Don't think i'll need it much or at all once I get the WSP ports open. And as far as MS updater, if I really need to get there I suppose I could just punch in the website and go. Whats a little manual labor in an otherwards automatic PC world Grin

I went to Firefox a while back and I wouldn't use any other browser now! Earlier this week I found a cool trick you can do if you want to save streamed video with it. Cache the page then click on Tools, Page Info then under media you can save the cached file. Great for those little clips of flying footage 8)

I've never seen the point in changing. If I did I would probably use Opera.

afraid, why? my Ctrl + alt + del 's have reduced by 80% because of Firefox, it's a more stable internet browser.

now i've never tried opera, so i can't vouch for that, but i won't diss it either, i heard it was good.

I've never had to Ctrl+alt+del IE. It crashes every now and then but I think thats more to to with the website than the browser.

Having used both Opera & Firefox, also, Netscape & I.E. I now just use Firefox.

Faster, safer, more stable, totally customizeable, etc.
Why would you not want to use it?

Like mentioned above some "IE" only sites may not work well Windows Update for example but you can use IE for that Wink

I still use IE, tried Firefox and did not find it to my liking.

I have IE-7 on one computer and am just getting used to it.

Might download Firefox again and do a closer comparison between it and IE-7.

After 20+ years of useing MS products I have never had a problem or complaint (except for pricing).

Maybe becaue it's installed base is so much smaller than IE, so anyone wanting to do something malicious don't see looking for Firefox exploits not worth their while?   Grin

Safer becasue it doesnt allow Active X controls, which is also why most MS sites wont work with it Wink

Firefox is worth it for the "find" function alone.  When you hit ctrl+f, a little bar comes up at the bottom.  You type in what you're looking for, and it narrows down its search with each letter you type in-just jumps straight to the word, no opening the find window like in IE, no hitting "ok."  It may seem minor, but to someone who uses it constantly (like myself), it's fantastic.

I only use FF for downloading because when I download with IE it comes up saying that the Zip is invalid or corrupted.
