I fly in MP almost nightly (East Coast Time) and don't see any of you from these forums. I can only assume that some of you don't fly by the same name used in these forums. I've looked for some of you and have never found any of you.  My name in MP mode is Antijet1. (all the cool handles are taken. I used to be KillerSpade or Iron_Chef007 in IL-II). Have any of you seen or flown with me?

All I've ever used was the Zone network as I thought it was the only one for FS9 flying. It's good to be a member of these forums. I'm sure I'll learn something new here every day. Grin

Join us on the WSPilots server just like wealthysoup mentioned, i'm always on as TSC, you can usually find me around on a Tues or Wed night for one of the Simalive tours (8pm GMT approx).

There is also now a permanent Teamspeak server for SimV at ts.netfrag.org:8767   (85.10.201.84:8767)

Cheers,

TSC.

PS: I guess you already know these, but just in-case:

These are the ports that WSPilots require you to have open for using their server. http://www.portforward.com/ is a great site for info on opening ports in different routers.

Getting off work here in a minute. I'll check out all this stuff when i get home. Need to RE-get the teamspeak stuff and make sure it all works. Maybe I'll see some of you this evening. I try to get a flight or two in nightly and definately (as i'm a hermit if I don't have to work) fly or test new AC all weekend. Wink

Alrighty then. Got FsHostSpy last night and used it to see if anyone was in the WSP servers. Unless mistaken, it looks as though they only have 3 servers? In which case I didn't see anyone familiar from these forums. So I moved on to the Teamspeak. Got that all connected and works great. Need to tweak the volume though. Took a little hop at the Elite Flyers site then shut it all down for the night (around 1200am est). I noticed alot of the port redirect stuff for WSP and Elite. It looks as though it's all router stuff.  As I have no router and am only connected via my cable modem directly, I'm guessing I'll be ok wherever I fly or is this not the case. I know for sure I was good to go at Elite Flyers. Mabye I should try WSP this evening (if the wife will let me Grin).

Hi Jetmech,

You will need to open the same ports in your Windows firewall aswell (Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> Exceptions). Although I seem to think this only applies to Windows XP - maybe somebody else could clarify.

See here(You only neeed to open the WSpilots ports I have labled & the teamspeak6073 port):

The ports that are ticked in the picture are the ports that are 'open' - you will need to use the 'Add Port' button to just add in the 4 WSPilots ports. After that you can leave them permanently ticked.

This is what it will look like when you click on 'Add Ports' (The only diffference being this is my 'Edit Ports' window, as I already have the ports set up).
...
You need to do this for WSpilots ports 23432, 23456, 23457, 23458 & port 6073 for Teamspeak.

Leave them open all the time as they will need to be open before you join an MP.

Good luck & hopefully we'll see you in an MP soon.

Cheers,

TSC.

For the windows firewall you only need to allow FS9.exe as an exception ....... ports aren't an issue then apart from in the MP settings.

I think I get it now. As I'm at work at the moment it's hard to remember it all here. So in a nut shell do what is perscribed above and I'm golden. One more question. Opening these ports via the firewall are for the server and the TS correct?  I won't have to go into TS and do the same thing correct? I may have just answered my own question. Let me rephrase. Opening the ports in XP will let both items run correct? I'm sure thats what it is. It's been a long day Grin If not tonight, definatley Friday-Sunday (With the cut off being the SuperBowl of coarse Grin)as far as MP goes. Thanks again for all your help. Wink

I think you've got it, Eno is very likely to be right about here:

I only set mine seperatly because I was advised to, but it all works ok.

I'm screwed for MP time this weekend, but should be around more after Monday.

Cheers,

TSC.
