I'm nearing the end of a great book that I can reccomend to you gentlemen.

"Bomber Crew" By J. Sweetman.  It follows the Story of the night bomber attacks on Europe from the eyes of the crews that flew.  Makes for fascinating reading.

My question is wheter there are any decent books out there that look in more depth at the technology of the time.  The book mentions the various radar systems in use and the countermeasures employed by the Luftwaffe but it doesn't go into much depth and I am interested in finding out more.

For example they had a rear facing radar that warned of the proximity of German fighters with an orange light and warned of German radar lock with a red light.  The Germans quickly developed a system that could detect this and allow them to home into the bomber stream.

Any suggestions on reading material greatly accepted.

Will

Hi Will. Don't know if you've read 'Most Secret War' by RV Jones. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0241897467/026-6738978-0295665
I picked it up cheap (£3.99) in WH Smith recently. If I remember correctly it covers the development of airborne Radar among many other things & it's well worth a read.
