Hello fellow flight simmers.Im new here and must say I find the info most informative.Can anyone help me to find VB planes spitfire MK1a for CFS2.Ive looked on Simviation,Simnetwork andNetwings but cant find it anywhere.At the moment I am making a little 30 mission battle of brittain campain and need a Mk1 for 19sqd.Any help much appreciated.Thanks.Richard

Thanks for that james.Yes I have had a look in here and found many aircraft to add to my hanger.At the moment I have 16 spitfires ranging from YAS mk1a to Paul reb????s spit14.As I said the VB is only for my little campainas I have a nice 19sqd skin for it.Im making the missions using a VBmk2a and was just going to change the plane over with the mk1 usingCFS mission utilaty.I look forward to getting that site address from you when it comes back on line.Thanks.Richard

Remember Sim-outhouse is having problem right now. Wait until Wensday. Hopefully they will up by then.

PS give us the best Battle of Brirain ever. To me the most exciting period in World war two was from 1939 to late 1942. After that every one knew the war was probably going to be won by the Allies. From 1943 to 1945 it was just sluggfest of destruction and death with little doubt who was going to win.

Take your time and give us your best. Remember to backup your CFS2 install. That way it will save you from a lot of headaches.

Richard there are two ways of doing this. One is by creating a new folder and calling whatever you want. For example you can call it CFS2 Europe. Go to the Folder you are using Combat Flight Simulator 2. Copy its content into the new folder by pasting its content in the new folder.

The other way is by renaming the original folder with another name. For example you can change the name from Combat Flight Simulator 2 to CFS2 Europe of you orginal install folder.

That way when try to play the program it wont recognize the game is still install and it will ask you if want to install it. You just install the program again but in a different folder. You see the program reads the name of the folder to see if its install. Once you change the name of the folder it thinks it has not been install and it will ask if you want to install CFS2.

There is a post by member call Hagar that  explain this prosses better  than I can.

The reason I tell you to back it up is just in case you make a mistake or a new addon comes with diffect and corrupts the program. You can always go back  to that backup folder to fix whatever folder in the original you has been corrupted. In other words you delete the corrupted folder of its cotent and copy and paste from the backup to new original folder. This procces has save me from a lot headaches believe me.

The way this work is every time you do a new addon. you first check it if it works and if it effected your Mission Builder. After you are sure it works properly you install it on your backup and check your backup.

That way you make your sure your backup is up to date. That way if you have to fix the original you are fixing the last addon and you are not unstalling or deleting all your prevous addon.

Another way of fixing problems is by reinstall over the over your already install program. The two ways work very well.

Another tip for you make only one upgrade at a time. Do not try to install to many things at the same time. Do one at a time. That way it will decrease your chances of getting a corrupted message and if you do get that message you will know what addon corrupted it. It will make easier to fix.

You now there is a program out there that will allow to use more that one thousand planes through this program through different Hangars.

Also remember not to place more than 95 to 100 planes in the Hangar you are using. That will corrupt the program 100% guarantee.

This is sounding better all the time james.I think Ill go with the rename and then re install option.That way I can have my ETO on my desk top as well as PTO.Is it possible to remove some of the scenery from PTO to give me more room and less CPU usage on my ETO.Im not running the fastest computer on the planet and sometimes think I over do it.At the moment for ETO im only using the english channel and south of England but with runways,chainhome,London,and infrastructure I find I have to lower my setting to keep up a decent frame rate[30-35fps].I think another problem is the aircraft I use.For major battles I use converted CFS1 bombers as I can put 30 to 40 of them in the air at once but I tend to use quite detailed fighters.This certaily slows it down.Any sugestions on which are the frame rate friendly plane makers.My VB mk2a causes no trouble at all even in sqd strength.Keep up the advice.As you can see Im just learning.Thanks again.Richard

You see what I mean. We can always learn from each other. How do you Brandon remove the European Airfield as well. I would like my European CFS2 install to only have European Airfield and my Pacific Theater to only have Pacific Airfields.

Any advice accepted.I tried the site you linked me james and got a couple of nice lancasters which fly well but Im having a bit of trouble with them as AI.Guess I,ll just have a play around and see what I can come up with.As for scenery if you could let me know how to move it about Brandon I,ll give it a go.I,ve backed up my CFS2 incase of any problems so fire away.Richard

Richard I"m sorry it as taken me long to answer you. I have been working all this time. I have been using this scenery for Britain that I like. It even has Dover cliff. This in no way implies that this is the only good Britain scenery available. There are several good ones out there. Just remember that when you activate or install a new scenery you have to deactivate the prvious one. Other wise the new one you have just activated will not work proprely. Try different ones and see wich one you like better.

There are also two European Sea texture available.

There are many different Europen Texture and Mesh available as well.

Just go to this same Website and go to the Scenery section.

You can also go to  Netwings and Sim-outhouse sceneries section. There are sceneries available for basically most of the World. You can also add some of FS2002 sceneries as well. Its up to you.

Oceans and clouds are also included. There is a alternative Sun available as well.

Remember upgrade slowly. Do not do many upgrades at the same time. That could corrupt the program.

Richard please take your time. I Love the Battle of Britian,Its probably the most important single Battle of World war two. Its only rival was the Battle of Midway when it come to decisive Battle of World war two.

So you see I will never get bore of it. Its has always facinated me how this liitle Island Nation was to hold it self up against the Might of the Nazi Impire.

Just do not forget that there was also a great struggle across the other side of the World just as important as the beign fought in Europe.

When you put both of them together its when World war to becomes real facinating.

Remember the the British Army and Navy also parcipated in the Pacific war. They fought hard and well against a very formidible enemy.

Now lets go and defend Britain for the sake of Democracy. Let them say in a thousand years, This was the British Impire fines hour. It was!

Since you are developing this mission collection in honor of those who fought and died in that Battle of Britain. This was indeed their fines hour.

Do not forget as well that others fought side by side with the British people in those days. The Poles, Chechs and the Norwegians and many others.

Freedom has a high price but its darn worth it. Thank God there has always been brave men and women who have been willing to pay the price so the rest of us can enjoy it.

You can fight for any side you want. It's darn good to have that freedom Whether you're intercepting German bombers over London at day or night, or in a Bf-109 trying to guard the bombers on their way to Britain, as Die Staffel says in his sig: 'Never let history get in the way of a good game.'

Of course you can fly the Hurricane, de Havilland Mosquito NF2 (the Blitz), Beaufighter (the Blitz), Bf-110, Ju-87, He-111, Ju-88, Do-17 and maybe even others as well in the BoB due to the aircraft making CFS2 has seen in the time.

I'm sorry but I don't know much about Spits for CFS2. These days I only have much to do with the ETO 'Nacht über Festung Europa/Deutschland' (in German, Night over Fortress Europe/Germany) theatre.

Sorry I can't be of much help with Spitfires.

All I know is Akemi has some and YAS & Paul Rebuffat specialize in making them.
