Twenty four years ago on January 18,1982, Maj Norman Lowry, Capt Willie Mays, Capt Pete Peterson, And Capt Mark Melancon lost their lives while performing a line abreast loop over Indian Springs Nevada
This is just a small tribute in their honor.

It was reported that the leaders elevator controls became jammed with(FOD). The rest of the formation were doing what they were trained to do, and that was watch the leader. 2,3,4 probably never knew there was a problem and followed lead into the ground, they did not collide in the air.

Just on a side note. I met three of the four pilots involved with the diamond crash when I was very young and also met two other Thunderbird pilots who perrished prior to that. Though the meetings were very brief, they will always stay with me.
