Here is my gmax model of a warthog. A little somthing I have
been working on for a little while. I have yet to discover how to import this to flightsim. I have a few more Halo models that I will be sharing over the next few weaks. I also need to learn how to texture i. If somebody could tell me how to do this that would be great.

Why didn't I think of that?
I have to say, for someone who doesn't know how to export yet, that's a very impressive model. I play Halo 2 all the time with my friends in MP and that ride looks almost exactly like the one in the game. Excellent job!

You need to download the FS SDK's for any importing. And it looks good. Far better than I could do. Boxes and teapots is my Gmax talent.

Okay, first off, I had to resize your image before the mods noticed it. If I didn't they would probably just rip it off the server. 1071x780 is way too large for this forum. 800x600 or smaller, and under 100kb, please!
Secondly, to transfer something from Gmax to FS you have to rearrange some stuff in the Gmax hierarchy.
An excerpt from
THIS
thread tells you what to move and where to find it initially:
Quote:
If you have FS2002Pro and have done a full install, you should have a file named FSModelExp.dle. This is the export plugin. Copy it as well as makemdl.exe from your
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002\gmax\Flightsim\plugins
folder to your
C:\gmax\plugins
folder.
Of course, if you are using the makemdl.exe from the SDK you would only have to copy FSModelExp.dle over but you MUST have FSModelExp.dle to export at all.
Follow the instructions above (they were made with 2k2 in mind, but it is still relevant for ACOF) to install the main files necessary for exporting gmax files. You can accomplish a good export by doing just the above, as well as following the information in the sticky thread at the top of the Aircraft & 3D Design forum. But I tend to use a couple of other little programs as well, as they give you much more control over what gmax does.
The first is
Middleman
found
HERE
. Read some info on this prog before you use it or download it.
The second is a program that Middleman was designed to run with:
MDLCommander
found
HERE
. Click on Freeware, Go To Downloads (bottom of page) and then MDLCommander over on the left. Read up on this one as well before you do anything with it.
After you have all of this worked out, check out
THIS
thread one more time to export. If you have any more trouble, feel free to email me or IM me.
Good Luck!
Locke

In regards to the "FSModelExp.dle" file, you no longer need FS2k2pro to get it. M$ has long ago released a software development kit called "Gmax Gamepack SDK" and it can be found at:
http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/fs2004_downloads_sdk.asp
The gamepack contains the latest FSModelExp.dle file.

Well if it isnt too much to ask. But is it possible for some one here to take the CFS shooting ability and put it on FS9? You know, be able to shoot at other people's airplanes and stuff like that...
