Sometimes when I see great shots by people like Dave with his moonlit P-40 it inspires me to try something different.
Long ago I admired the stories of the very brave British pilots who flew secret flights with the amazing Lysander during WWII.
Alphasim supplied the plane.
But I needed the proper setting and lighting to bring out the dramatics of thie plane.
Dave supplied the inspiration.
I want to point out that in these shots there is no post shot editing. It's all done pre-flight with the settings on the video card itself.
I think that in these shots I finally got the balance correct to keep the night sky as dark as possible and bring clarity to the plane and its sorroundings.
See what you think.

Think you hit the spot there! Indeed the way the plane comes out of the night is fabulous work! Very Very nice!
How do the ground textures look with this set-up? You might have found the perfect settings for FS with proper moonlight.
Great set Ramsa!
(I really must try serious to change stuff on the vid card when in fs!)

You totally did a good job there in bringing the plane out of the darkness, it didn't occur to me to do it by tweaking the vid card, will have to give that a go.
Good-looking shots!

Really extraordinary pictures! Have you tried landing at night? And how effective are the landing lights on this version of the Lysander?
You've produced truly dazzling pictures of the Lysander, in a setting appropriate to the aircraft's more famous missions....
Well done indeed!

That must have been a wonderful flight/
Once the eyes adjust and it is just you, the sky and the wind, it all comes together.
And I do have to agree, for a dark night, you can really see what needs to be seen!
Great depth!!

Thanks for the comment Michael!

Terrific shots, but would they be flying a secret mission behind enemy lines with all the lights on?
