Just wanted to say that I loved your post Ashar.

I'm currently working on a system for my mum at the moment, don't have the money to upgrade Sad although getting a new sound card (current SoundBlaster Audigy 2) and Graphics Card (Asus FX5200) wouldn't be a bad idea.

Hussein.

You all realise that your going to need some pretty hefty upgrades right?

Processers AMD 3600+  or greater / Intel Pentium 4 3.2Ghz or greater (530 or 630 prescotts)

GFX nVidia 6800Ultra or greater (pref SLi) / ATi Radeon X800XT or greater (pref X1800XT)

RAM 1GB PC3200 (2GB for serious pilots)

Plus in three months (about) were getting socket AM2, and supposidly Conroe cores from intel. Ontop of that SLi x16 is coming down in cost. Therefore by the time that FSX comes out were looking at Crossfire and SLi (mabe even quadro) systems with AMD 4000+ or Intel 3.4 or greater processers to be able to get the peak proformancel. I think that alot of people on this board are going to get let down at the fact that their systems are going to need some pretty costly upgrades before they can hope to get FSX.

Cheers

being that i just entered game development college, i think i can expect my parents to give my constant upgrades some more credit (and budget Grin Grin Grin), since from their point of view, an ever-beefy computer would now be considered a "school issue"  Grin Grin Grin Grin

That's what I'm doing. I'm going to save up, and wait untill the DX10 compliant cards to come out before rebuilding my system

Well I would do the same, but I'm going to Nor' Easter in April (YA LPANE!!!) and my system is up there, but I wan't to give every single card setup a run for its money, so I'm looking to get a Radeon X1800XL sometime soon. Then I save up the summer money, plus X-Mas cash grand total is going to be somewhere around $2300. Ontop of that, I sell Sheila (another $1200 atleast) and Quad SLi here I come.

Cheers
