It was announced today that Spanish low-cost airline Air Arriba has sold 50% of the airline to Austrailian company Nimrea Holdings Group. The two airlines merger means Air Arriba can operate in Australaisn and Nimrea can operate from Spain to major European destinations.
Chief Executive at Air Arriba said: “This is great news for the airline and will ensure further expansion in the future and is what the airline has been needing. There are many opportubites now open to us as we can work closely with the Nimrea Holdings Group management team to improve the services we offer our current and future pilots”
This also means that Air Arriba will be rebranded ‘flyarriba’ and will have a new livery to reflect the merger.The Airbus A319 will be introduced to the fleet and the Boeing 737 gradually phased out.
The two airlines will continue to work closely with sister airline Air Reliance who provides codeshare flights and maintenance operations, who also will be undergoing major changes soon.
The deal was finalized today and comes into effect immediately.
