Not much nicer after a rough Monday than finding that special package in the mailbox: took exactly one week for my install disc to arrive from MAAM, and it was now time to play with my new toy!

I've only just started with it, and not properly either (tutorials, etc.).And these shots are nothing special. Been playing with my card, too- some issues there.
But I have to show it here, and describe it: the outstanding DC3/RFD6/C47 package from MAAM-Sim! Probably all BPB... if so,  sorry...

Among many other goodies, the pkg comes with scenery: the airport at Reading looks pretty good now.

...

Each type has a full-VC cabin or a "medium" model that's like the default FS9 Gooney: no cabin. But who wants to see where the paying customers sit? Here's a peek at the full-VC airliner version; more later. Or see Jake's very nice picsposted recently... Grin
...

Lots of nice little details:

...

One of two(three?) C47 models. I really like the external modeling of all of these, but I wish the windows were more properly reflective- they sorta just mist over. Modeling all that reflection is asking a lot, so... maybe I can just diminish the effect a little.I just think if there was more of a sense of a darkened space behind it, it'd look better.

...

The view aft in the C47: all this needs is some  paratroopers!

...

A quick look at the NATS version of the R4D-6; my rig doesn't do it justice. but see what I mean about the windows?

...

Very curious about the XKC47, a brief attempt to enhance the utlity of this great machine with a very big pair of Edos... I wrassled it around a little; can't wait to really learn how to fly it. There are tons of tutes, etc. in the package, including videos where you are in the FO seat watching and listening (on the ramp, engines off, but in the real plane).

...

I've been too busy and tired to sit down and start at Step 1, but not too much so to just have some fun with it... here's a newer freeware paint: a mint-looking Frontier DC3, ca. 1950.
The flight characteristics seem more like what I'd expect (despite having 0 hours in DC3s); it trims out with less oscillation, and the rudder makes more sense to me, too. Second takeoff in this model, I flew it right off the runway, mostly with trim:

...

Next: better interior views (panels!) and flight comments

Mine came too!  IT really is an excellent plane, and an update is expected fairley soon to make the VC fully clickable, fix the windows, and animate the pilots.

AND, there is a Duggy texture now!  (YAY!)

I know it sounds silly, but I'm most excited about the windows. The external model will be just about perfect with a better reflection effect.
I tend to go 2D for most button-pushing anyway, so I'm content with the VC as is. I kinda wish they hadn't updated the radios, though... Grin

No, its not THE float version.  There were 5 or 6 DC-3s converted.  The first one was the XC-47 for the military, then some others.  Until recently, the one you see was the only one still flying, it was flying with Folsom's Air Service, but they converted it back to the original.  The real XC-47 was sadly under expectations, it didnt perform as well as was hoped, so the project was abandoned.
