You get money when registering? But.... I have like 6 of their products....

1) Flight Deck III
2) WWII Carrier Operations
3) Combat Helicopters
4)Military Airplanes
5) Airbus A380
5) USA Terrain in detail (literally translated from the box, it says it in Dutch)
6) Europe Terrain in detail (same for this one)
7) Waterplanes
8 ) Helicopters in Action

I bought these all in a store in Belgium. I saw these addons for Flight Simulator. There were a few blue fat ones, which said "Collector's Edition Military Aviation" and "Collector's Edition Civil Aviation" and then the "USA Terrain in Detail" package apart.

It didnt say abacus anywhere on the packages, it just said easy computing. I thought it would be some Belgian or Dutch or even French made addons that noone had heard of except that I saw FDIII but I thought that they might just have struck a deal with Abacus.

Then I get home and find out everything is abacus!!  Wink

It doesnt matter, I scooped up all those addons for 60Euros! Smiley
Ive seen people much more tricked than myself,a couple of years back the waterplanes addon was in stores and my friend bought it for 30Euros... Grin Needless to say its one of their worse addons... Wink

Good for you

I dont like them either, but Flight Deck III has the best carriers anyone can find and as Felix said, the Best Hellcat you'll find for FS2004 is by them too. I was fooled because they didnt put abacus on the box, but on closer inspection found that they themselves dont make all the planes in the packages. Some aircraft, such as the Huey in combat helicopters, are actually excellent creations.

Abacus does have some decent items for sale. Ive read some great reviews on Carrier Ops, and also their recent EZ-Scenery which has taken the place amongst the Lago FSE users as the scenery creator.

granted some things they offer are better than other things, but to discount Abacus as a whole is not a good approach. It just works to your benefit if you research what is available as payware from any company.

I read a reasonably favorable review on Avsim about Abacus' new Airbus Fleet add-on.  Yes, it has their watered down FMC and no, the systems are not in depth simulated but the reviewer did say that the flight dynamics from one model to the other were differentiated acceptably and each one handled as expected.  He also stated that textures and VC's were done nicely.  Basically, the favorablility of the review was with-in the price range for a multi-plane add-on and the quality comparing against Abacus' other multi-plane add-ons.
Of course, the value leader for a mutlti-plane pack is still Shockwave Wings of Power.  That's the best $29.99 a simmer can spend for a package of realistic aircraft of any type.  Alphajet, you are correct that Abacus doesn't make all of their add-on aircraft.  Many of their add-on aircraft started life in a freeware state and spruced up a bit for payware sale.  Lonny Payne has done a number of Abacus products, you can find his 757 panel in the Commuter Express add-on and Sanchez-Castener's ATR is in that package as well.

I downloaded some of Abacus' trialware stuff and I think it sucks. I think maybe a freeware designer who's had a few months experience could make something better. Although I haven't tried their utilities.
