The most interesting strike I ever heard about occurred in Ketchikan, Alaska. An Alaskan carrier on final approach for landing struck a fish at a couple thousand feet.
No, that was not a typo. The theory is that an eagle dropped the fish, and it hit the windshield of an aircraft. It's hard to say who was more surprised — the eagle, the fish or the pilots.

I'm sure the pilot was the most surprised. The fish wouldn't have known what hit him, and I would bet the eagle would have been laughing hysterically if it was possible

Would you be laughing if you'd just dropped your dinner?

The day is always better when you're flying upside down.&&&&

That is quite strange....
I've heard another one like this, where some military aircrew on a trans-atlantic flight figured it would be funny to take a cow with them in the airplane, but the cow went crazy and they had to push it out the back, and it hit a fishing boat and sank it. But that sounds somewhat iffy, so I doubt it's something that actually happened.
Another time, I was flying around 3500ft AGL and I hit a bug. I thought that was somewhat strange (great story huh?).

I believe that it was a Russian military aircraft with a cargo of cows (don't ask me why) and the fishing boat was chinese.

i laughed for five minutes when i read about the fishing boat...
picture this...
your a chinese fisherman in the middle of NOWHERE in the ocean. the waves gently lapping against the hull... its been a decent day since you have made a good haul of tuna but wait... you hear something faintly in the distance, it sounds familiar but you cant place it. You scan the horizon and you listen with your ears straining against the solitude of ocean life.
what IS that sound you wonder to yourself.

Oh the sound a holstein must make when it slams into the deck of a chinese fishing trauler at terminal velocity.
later that day in cow heaven.....
Jersey: "Hey man, how'd you die?"
Guernsey: "Air hammer right to the fore head at the meat plant. you?"
Joursey: "ouch man... i got mad cow disease... yeah."
**both look at the new guy**
Jersey: "So Holstein how did your number come up?"
Holstein: "Well... aww hell you'd never believe me"
