Have always loved the plane, and I feel that it was never given the chance to really shine. When the latest model was released (which were superior to the DC10), Boeing had already rolled out the 767...  Sad

Some smaller airlines, mainly charters, still use the Lockheed L1011-Tristar. And it will be a very sad day when they are all gone  Embarrassed

Can a tail ever look so good?

Doing the pre-flight. Routing today is FNC-LIS, which is a 1h20min flight.

Gotta love those ol' smokey start-ups, courtesy of the Rolls Royce RB211's  Wink

Additional info: Lockheed had serious plans of launching a double-engine jetliner to compete with the A300/310 and 767, The Lockheed TwinStar. But they simlpy ran out of fundings as the TriStar failed to generate income to the company.

So glad I have this in my hanger. Looks good, but I would prefer the black smoke from the engines insted of the white.

cheers
