just practice and experience.
It's like driving a car in the end, really.
But I can tell you that the 747 is quite tough for new pilots to handle on the ground, since it's so long and the nosewheel is very far back. Often you must wait to turn the aircraft until the cockpit is litterarly over the grass  Grin

Like Nexus said, you kind of get a "feel" for it after you have a lot of experience.

I'd imagine they have to practice in a very, very large parking lot though Grin

Fortunately reverse bay parking isn't really a requirement. Grin

The Trident airliner made use of a system placed under the runway centerline to keep it heading strait down the runway after landing (following a perfect touchdown having using the autoland system, of course  Wink )

C-17 Globmasters back up to cargo bays and actually can parallel park.  If they wanted to. Wink

It's a bit easier to do in one of those since the whole back end opens up... who needs a rear view mirror anyway?

It was called the co-pilot, he had to get out and walk 10 feet infront of the aircraft along the line Grin
