Hello Lads... Grin...!

At the start of out UK flight last night there happened to be another two W S Pilot flyer's on 23458 Oceana quite happily enjoying each others company...
UNTIL we turned up and caused the usual frenetic mayhem on the same Port address... Shocked...!

During our endless Window Chat, one of them suggested a good idea might be to use Voice communication next time they fly together...
Which, to me, suggested that they were getting a bit fed-up with us... Shocked...!

Now I wonder, instead of suggesting a Port address in advance, would it not be a good idea for the first SimV flyer to connect in Multiplayer, to pick an unused Port Address...?
The other SimV flyer's will observe it on the WS Pilots Site, and then join that Address... 8)...!
That way we will be the first flyer's on the Address...
....(and take priority)....LOL... Wink...!
If All addresses are in use then we will have no choice but to annoy the existing Flyer's there...(as we do!)... Wink... Grin...!
What do you reckon...?

(Please don't suggest "Teamspeak! Many of us don't have it!)...Wink...!

Paul The Scourge Of W. S. Pilots... 8)...!
LOL...
Grin...!

Alternative Port addresses:
23456 Australia.
23457 World Tour.
23458 Oceana.

It's a good idea Paul, but really, at the end of the day - having some words occasionally going across the top of your screen or filling up your (already open) chatbox isn't the end of the world is it.

Some people just need to grow up & understand that it is a public server. We have as much right to use it as anybody else has.

PS: That last paragraph was directed at the other flyers & not the SimV rabble.

Peace,

TSC.

I agree. I'm not sure about the situation of the UK tours(As in if alot of people are already on the sever), but with the Italy tour everything has been fine, sometimes we have been the only ones on that server for the Italy tour. Like i said, im not sure if the situation is different when the UK tour is going ahead (if other people are already on), but overall i have been fine with it so far.

Maybe its just me, i dont know?

- Cheers.

I think that we have a right to use it.  But maybe we should ask at the beginning if they want to join us.  Say: We are a group of guys from SimV who go on these tours weekly, would you like to come fly with us?  If they say no, then too bad for them!

I remember meeting some unknown and rude people in the WSP servers as well while me and someone else was flying briefly for a few minutes over Pearl Harbor. The discussion became an arguement and it later turned very sour. I left the server and came back an hour later for the Pearl Harbor Memorial Flight with three other SimV friends. Luckly, the unknown individuals were gone before I returned.

If you ask me, the unknown individuals were imature, rude, and inconsiderate. One of them was self-centered and self-obsorbed.

As Paul has suggested, there are lots of Public Servers to use, ......there are no rules stating that we have to use a WS Pilots Server......pick any public server from FSHostSpy and use the lowest ping which is running empty..........

Thank-you very much, Ken... Smiley...!

I'm glad someone has backed me up... Grin...!
I merely suggested that sometimes it was a problem for us sharing the same Server IP, on the same port as other users, when a conflict may occur, (which it did on the evening of our flight)... Cry...!
There is always the chance of spoiling someone else's enjoyment...!
The same problem could occur in reverse... Shocked...!

We could use Teamspeak, but not everyone has it installed, or the equipment to use it...!
...anyway...I rather like the "Chat Window", and have a good laugh at the various comical comments... Grin...!
Which is probably what pee's-off other users using the same Port...(and who want to be serious?..)..Embarrassed...!

Thank-you, Ken. I feel much better now...Smiley...!

Is it a fair assumption that if I find a server with a short ping, someone else (possibly on the other side of the world) will find it has a long ping?  The WS Pilots server usually has a ping around 100ms, there are others below 50ms which I obviously would prefer!  But will other pilots see a 200ms ping on the same server?  I'm not clear why some are faster than others, or what can be done about it.

(Quickly opens FSHostSpy)
TGE Virtual Flyers Association Server, 0/30 pilots, 38ms.
BlueStream Airlines VA server, 0/unlimited pilots, 364ms.
