Everywhere I fly, I look for potential race settings. Here's one I found in Golden Wings this afternoon, in Washington state. It's for single engined floatplanes like the DHC Beaver. The airport ID is 0W0.
1. Take off and immediately turn about, head for point 2
2. Touch down, taxi under the bridge and STAY ON THE WATER.
3. Circle the island, go as fast as you want but DO NOT TAKE OFF until you pass point 4.
4. Pass under this bridge, then take off and head back to the start.
5. Fly over the starting point.
6. Fly under this bridge. It's a tight fit so be careful!
7. Fly along the LENGTH of this bridge, staying below the height of the street lights. You can see point 8 from here.
8. There are two radio masts on top of the hill, fly between them.
9. Head back to the start, touch down, and return to the shore. The winner is the first one to beach his plane on the sand.
Does that sound like fun?
