Saturday night was the first Great SimV Race, and I was there...knew I didn't have a chance, so Clipper kindly let me judge... Wink

I experienced the race somwhat differently to other people, so please don't be disappointed, especially Grysnak, to find your Extra repaints not in these shots!

The guys who got there early...waiting...
They got to watch me laugh at my own jokes.. what a treat!

...

For some reason, even though I have the Extra and all textures, people looked a bit....different. Here's the full line up, more or less, at the field which decades later would become San Francisco International. I expect they were on the active runway, though I can't be sure...(Using Golden Wings  Roll Eyes)

...

Lurking near the Bay Bridge, the racers fast approaching after finishing the first task, 'catching the pass' at the local stadium...

...

A whole constellation of intrepid simmers filled the skies...as wondering San Franciscans stood and gaped...

...

Next, the constellation of light aircraft descended upon the local carrier for a touch and go... Fozzer's speciality...

...

The swarm moved on...

...

Inverting over some small airport, Mobius already had a clear lead by then...

...

Here, Mobius has just done his touch and go (far left) with the others whipping their engines for more speed...ecko later coming a clear second, and the others in a kind of chaotic bunch taking up the other positions (see elsewhere for results)...

...

It was a fun race, though very short - we'll know for next time! More laps! Smiley

It was great to see everybody there, thanks for coming!!

Happy flying

Thanks for the comments.... other people got better shots I expect but still Smiley

Yep, Mobius, it was me you almost killed at the bridge, thought I was a goner.... Shocked

It was pretty successful Ozzy, and fun, but next time there will be more laps - it was very quick - less build up and more action!

I'm looking forward to it greatly... it was so cool seeing the huge quantity of An-2s powering towards me!!! And the sound of 15 engines or so at the start, man, it was powerful...

I can't believe I haven't seen these pics yet. Considering the activity going on at the time Krigl, you did a yoeman's job of photogrphing the event. I'm the first one to agree as well the next race should (and will) be more on course time and less on hype. You were an invaluable help and have become entrenched (by choice or not) as a member of the ...as Cspyro would put it..... "Racing Commitee". Thanks again for your help and input...Clip
