Well this is Alpha Sims B-36 on its way to Pheonix Air Museum out of Las Vegas. The quality of this plane out of box I think is poor, I only have it because its one of my fav aircraft.

Leaving Las Vegas, you can see a sliver of Lake Mead to the left.
...

About 50 miles over the Nevada - Arizona border and approaching Kingman.
...

Decending Into Pheonix, we have lost a lot of light.
...

On approach to Sky Harbor
...

Touchdown, a little off center but it was a VFR landing so gimme a break Wink
...

I was hopeing to get to cross Hover Dam but my route said otherwise. Tongue

I love that awesome bird, nice shots of it!!! I live for the day when I get the chance to try out Ito's bird...seems like a good alternative if Alpha's product isn't up to scratch, and looks way cool in the one shot I saw from (I think) Omag....

Yeah, I wish the rockets worked. Because right now it feels so easy to get off the ground. But infact it had those 4 rocket pods on there to help get the thing up to speed. It is the largest bomber ever made by the US with a wingspan almost twice as long as the modern B-52 This one only has the animations.

A very sweeping statement which, IMO, is no longer true...

By the way - those four rocket pods are turbojet engines added to boost the thrust for take-off.

And for he who made the sweeping statement on Alphasim, take a look at the Alphasim screenshot forum in particular the F-117 which should sway your opinion.

If thats not enough, have a look at the C-5 Galaxy, F-8 Crusader etc etc. For the price, these are damn fine models recently released by Alphasim.

Last I heard Ito doesn't do VC's.......?

Hmm I remember watching a show on the History Channel about this aircraft (back in the day of Wings) best show ever. And I remember them saying they were rockets and only operated during takeoff.

Never believe everything you hear on TV... Wink

Unfortunately the B-36 is rather let down having MSFS as a host sim. AFAIK only 4 engines can be simulated in FS9, and you can't simulate a mix of pistons and turbines. Shame really...

The propulsion system of the B-36 made it a very unusual beast. All B-36s featured six Pratt & Whitney R-4360 radial piston engines, each displacing 4,360 in³ (71.4 L) and the most powerful and perhaps most sophisticated piston aircraft engine ever built. Each engine drove an immense three-bladed propeller, 19 ft (5.8 m) in diameter, mounted on the trailing edge of the wing. This was the rarely employed pusher configuration, favored by aerodynamic theory because the unavoidable propeller turbulence does not interfere with wing lift.

Even though these piston engines delivered 18,000hp, early B-36s were slow and required long takeoff runs. This was addressed in two ways. First, later versions of the R-4360 delivered 3,800hp apiece. Second, beginning with the B-36D, Convair suspended from each outer wing a pair of General Electric J47-19 jet engines, modified to run on aviation gasoline. J47s were then added to most extant B-36Bs. The greater power improved performance while taking off and landing, climbing to altitude, cruising at over 35,000 feet, and (hopefully) during combat.

Thus the B-36 came to have 10 engines, more than any other mass-produced aircraft, and yet another unusual feature enabled by its enormous wings. If all engines functioned normally at full power during the pre-takeoff warmup, the lead flight engineer would say to the captain "six [engines] turning and four [engines] burning". Erratic reliability led to the wisecrack "two turning, two burning, two joking, and two smoking", with two engines not accounted for.

I am sorry that you are not satisfied with your product. The product still has a VC, soundpack, AI model and effects included for a very reasonable and affordable price. It is the best available B-36 for flightsim at this time.

And that hurts Woozy King Cry

Soundpack eh? I might be tempted now you've told me that, despite it having a wingspan of 2 times any other payware aircraft I have! Smiley Grin

I miss the days of FS95 and 98 where you got like 100 aircraft in an add-on pack and they each had their own sound. I had one that had about 40 cold-war era aircraft and they all had sounds.
