You should plan another one of these using the Schneider Race scenery & planes - that would be mega cool.

Have a look HERE for the planes & scenery.

Cheers,

I have a cool idea for a race........OMDB to KJFK...no slewing, no time-speed up, no cheating...and must be done in real time with a Airbus A340-500...why the heck is all the emphasis on GA and Vintage Warbirds?? ???

Why specifically the Airbus A340-500 Ashar??

What about Concordes or SR71's - London -> New York.

If everybody has to fly the same route, with the same plane, at the same time, then they're going to be travelling at the same speed... it's not going to be much of a race!  More like Airbus formation flying.

A simple race from A to B is actually kind of boring, especially if someone else has a faster plane than you.  All you can do is sit and watch them get further and further in front, then read in the chat window that they've landed in first place while you're still many miles away.  Yaaaawn.

A good race should require the pilot to do more than open the throttle and point the plane in the right direction.

Its all GA, because GA is fun, you have more control, and its easier, and alot more appropriate for some of the members.
I mean i fly heavys my self, but GA is the way im afraid. Smiley

Thanks for the Tips on the English Channel Race, looks fantastic

There's no mention of tomorrow night's English Channel race on the Simalive page, is it still happening?

Sure is, check on the "Special events page", and it should be there. I was experiencing problems earlier, but it should be up and running fine now.

Cheers, and see you all tomorow.

You do know Scotland to Iceland will take about 2-3 hrs.

You're better off taking off at BIKF and then flying around the country down to Vestmanegjar<-- island south of iceland. Im from there =D, enjoy Mt. Hekla Grin
