Hello!

I'm pleased to announce that West Express is restructuring in an effort to bring more simplicity and refinement to the airline. Our preliminary plan is drawn out below. After several months of trying to make the old structure work, I came to the realization that I simply don't have time with college. So, instead of just walking away, I thought it would be better to simply redesign the airline to work around my schedule. We will be offering a lot of automated services that will allow the staff to plan more fun events instead of counting hours. With that, here is the new plan:

Fleet
Embraer 170 (GE)
Boeing 737-700 (CFM)
Boeing 737-800 (CFM)
Boeing 757-200 (PW)

At least one example of each fleet type has been painted in our new livery (see below).  The rest of the active fleet will be painted before the airline reopens.

Service

Our intial operations will be based in Los Angeles (also the location of our corporate headquarters).

Initial Routes (dep. LAX)
Albuquerque, NM (KABQ) (4x)
Calgary, Alberta (CYYC) (4x)
Chicago (O’Hare), IL (KORD) (6x)
Colorado Springs, CO (KCOS) (3x)
Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX (KDFW) (6x)
Denver, CO (KDEN) (5x)
Eugene, OR (KEUG) (3x)
Fresno, CA (KFAT) (5x)
Honolulu, HI (PHNL) (5x)
Houston, TX (KIAH) (4x)
Indianapolis, IN (KIND) (3x)
Kahalui, HI (PHOG) (3x)
Kona, HI (PHKO) (3x)
Las Vegas, NV (KLAS) (6x)
Mexico City, Mexico (MMEX) (3x)
Minneapolis, MN (KMSP) (2x)
New York (Kennedy), NY (KJFK) (5x)
Oakland, CA (KOAK) (5x)
Palm Springs, CA (KPSP) (3x)
Phoenix, AZ (KPHX) (6x)
Portland, OR (KPDX) (5x)
Reno, NV (KRNO) (3x)
Sacramento, CA (KSMF) (4x)
Salt Lake City, UT (KSLC) (4x)
San Diego, CA (KSAN) (9x)

Vancouver, B.C. (CYVR) (6x)
Victoria, B.C. (CYYJ) (4x)
Washington (Dulles), D.C. (KIAD) (6x)

We are also in primary planning stages of a regional division using Bombardier Q200s and CRJ-700s.  More information will be released when it is available.  Along with this would come the opening of a focus city (possibly to be developed into a full hub) in Seattle, Denver, or St. Louis.  Service from this focus city would be in addition to added regional service from Los Angeles.

We have reached a deal for in-flight entertainment systems featuring XM Satellite Radio and DirecTV to be installed in our entire domestic fleet.  These will feature individual AVOD devices for each passenger, with continuous live feed across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  Feature films will also be available.

Our aircraft will be equipped with a First Class section featuring 41" pitch all-leather seats.  Service will include complementary beverages and meals during standard meal times and/or on flights greater than 1.5 hours.  We will also have an Economy Class section featuring 33" pitch all-leather seats, with complementary non-alcoholic beverages and a snack.  A full meal will be offered on flights greater than 2 hours during meal times only.

ExpressMiles

Along with the rebranding of the airline, we will be revamping our frequent flier program, ExpressMiles.  Pilots will be able to earn ExpressPoints for each mile they fly for West Express or IAVA partners.  Special promotions will also apply that will award extra ExpressPoints.  These points may then be redeemed for ExpressRewards, including airline-related priveledges.  We are preparing to enter negotiations for other flight simulator rewards, such as product discounts.

That's all for now!  If you'd like to stay updated, please visit our website, westexpressairways.com, and sign up for the mailing list!

I can't link to images on my ImageShack account?!  What is the reason for this?  It seems quite ridiculous and if it's the case I probably won't be posting here anymore.

As is clearly stated in the sign-up page and the image upload page you cannot link images here. We have had a great deal of trouble because of this. If you don't like it that is your problem, if you have an issue that is your issue. If you don't post here again that is your decision.
However we have our rules for a reason and if you can't be bothered to read/abide by them then we will deal with your misdemeanours accordingly.

You'll understand when the linked image / site eventually gets abandoned and then tied into something like a porno site...... and the "rating" of the SimV thread then goes from "general aviation" to "mature audeinces only".   Wink

Personally, if the real reason is that ImageShack might become a porno site...well, that just seems like extreme paranoia to me.  Ah well...I'm not gonna argue.

Seriously though...the chance of some outside website turning into a porno site and then using the exact same filenames as my (or anyone elses) images is less than that of winning the lottery guys.  Doesn't ImageShack add those extra letters at the end to help prevent this as well?

We also have control over the image hosting here. If everyone had off site links we have no control on weather or not thoses sites are up and running.  It is nice to have forums where every image is working. It also helps with the speed at which pages load. Other host sites may have low bandwidth, which can slow down the forums.

usa757,

Sorry.... wasn't quoting every reason that this policy deals with...... just one of the most "graphic"  (pun intended  Wink).

With a linked image, we would then depend on the "security" for someone "hacking" even a single image on that site on the owners/moderators of the external site.  It removes our "local control".

best,

.......john
