I have lost count of the number of freeware birds I've played around with, but I've been hunting in vain for a proper Cessna 152, like the two I will start renting soon for those flights when I just need to keep my hand in or take one person for a ride... so I finally caved in and paid- yes, paid!! for a model: Flight One's very nice C152. Just the thing for "enhanced chair flying". It handles pretty much like the real thing: won't climb worth a damn with a full load, gets 95 KIAS in cruise if you're lucky, and requires some attentive rudder work to keep the ball centered. I'm very happy with it so far.   Grin

The VC is nice; not a masterpiece, but detailed enough and with very good animated shadows, etc.

For some reason the OBS and DG card can only be adjusted in one direction, but there's almost always some stupid quirk to deal with in a real rented C152, so I don't mind.

The 2D view is very photorealistic... dig the old Collins stack.
This view is good enough that this will make a good platform for IFR flight... and oh, yes, no AP. I want to make more IFR flights in the sim- I think doing so in this basic machine will be beneficial.

An interesting comparison: VC wing view versus 2D. But I prefer the VC "feel", myself, for VFR flying.

A very nice paint...
All I need to do now is figure out how to tweak the too-bright nav lights, then make repaints of this model to match the two new RL C152 "friends" in my life, and I'll be all set to pre-fly my little "missions".

Not spectacular shots and probably not the finest payware C152 out there, but it's a good start and a milestone for this old tightwad!!

Heh? Shocked Shocked

Welcome Rotty! Wink
Personally, I prefer Carenado but they dont have a 152 (except the FS2000 one  Grin)

I suppose this is probably the best one around, so congratulations on your purchase! Wink

And By the way, nice shots!  Smiley

I'm glad you're happy with her, I like her too, she's my second and only other payware plane aside from my TurboPorter... those nav lights are a bit bulbous though...

I'm envious about your flying a real one, enjoy it!!! Smiley

Very nice shots Sean...especially the cockpit one Wink

Have never bought any payware so have no idea what is out there.
I wonder if everything is covered in the SimV download section as far as what is available or not?

I am still looking for a DeHavilland DHC-3 radial engine (PW-R-1340) Otter on amphibious floats, wheel/skis and wheels in Royal Canadian Air Force Livery, United States Army or Air Force Livery and Canadian civilian commercial livery.
I would have thought there would be one in Bush Flying Unlimited by now and usable in FS 2004.

It would be nice to have a site with all payware available and compatible with FS 2004.

Again great shots...thanks.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Here you go Doug!

DESCRIPTION
"The Twotter”, is a high-end product featuring the De Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otter. Four versions are available, with wheels, skis, floats, amphibian and 16 liveries in a complete Gmax product. This turboprop is ideal for people who do not need to use major airports to fly their aircraft from. This highly versatile aircraft simply refuses to die and the last few years the number of flying Twotters has been increasing, even if the aircraft has been out of production for decades. This can be explained by its structure of multi-purpose twin-engines and its high-wings, allowing it to easily convert from an all-cargo configuration to a comfy commuter. Infact, this aircraft carries a pilot, copilot, and up to 20 passengers, depending upon the seating configuration and alternatively the Twin Otter can be equipped for cargo transportation, ambulance duties, supply dropping, aerial survey operations and fire-fighting. The aircraft can be adapted for operations on wheel-skis, spring skis, floats (which necessitates the installation of a short nose), and intermediate flotation gear (for "soft field" operation).
Further, this aircraft is one of the first that is made to be flown using the Virtual Cockpit. As we all know some of the most problematic parts of flying with the VC is that a lot of the controls normally used with the mouse can no longer be used. We decided to solve this by having ALL parts of the panel as separate windows. If you have multiple monitors as so many simmers have these days you can make your flights even easier by moving the undocked panels to the second monitor

SYSTEM REQUIREMENT
• Pentium III 750 MHz • 128 Mb RAM • 35 Mb of free available space on the hard disk • Sound card • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 & 2002 (Standard or Professional edition) • Windows 98 (SE), Windows ME, Windows 2000 Workstation or Windows XP

FEATURES
-completely designed in Gmax

-4 versions available: wheels, skis, floats & amphibian

-12 liveries painted in the colors of different operators

-designed to be flown using the Virtual Cockpit

-ALL parts of the panel can be used as separate windows

-designed to take full adavantage of multi monitor systems

-realistic sounds
