25th November, Richard Burns has passed away as he has been very ill for some time.

He was diagnosed with a brain tumour after blacking out whilst driving his Peugeot WRC car on a road section before the Wales Rally in 2003.

Very sad, i knew he had been ill, but, thought he was past it and recovering.....  Sad

I am sill in shock at this news.  Oddly still no official news reports on it, just forum threads from what I read.

I love his game and from what I read he was an extraordinarily kind man.  Such a waste to go so young. Undecided

Very sad news - just saw it on the TV. I was unaware that his illness had been so serious. Though it will be overshadowed by the death of George Best, this is far more tragic. Sad

That was definately unexpected from me. It's a big shame that he died so young, at least Mr. Best had a decent run.
