Since a lot of people get peed-off by the ratty textures that appear in Gmax, I want to pass on a very helpful tip on how to make those ratty textures become crystal clear.

Open Gmax > Customize Menu > Preference > Viewports Tab > On bottom-right corner, select "Configure Driver" > CHECK "Map bitmap size as closely as possible" and then click on the "512" button > click OK all the way through.

This helps in many ways:

1. Sharper 3-view images on plane objects allow for better alignment of the visual model.

2. Sharper textures for the visual models allows users to align objects within the model itself.

3. Makes the whole thing look good.

NOTE: You might notice a slight hit on computer performance while using Gmax in this setting due to higher resolutions.

Should be mentioned that the available resolution depends on your video card.
If you're one of the lucky guys owning one of the professional level ATI Fireglide or Nvidia cards you can go as high as 2056x2056 pixel.
