What will your next project about?

The Nissan Skyline R-34

What kind of car is it?

It's a racing type, like the Chevy.

What new features will you impliment?

Lightmaps for the gauges themselve and new light effects for the interior. I will also study and use the Heirarchy system of the export process [no more groups].

What challenges will it have and what's different about it?

The grill of the car seems complex and might provide a good learning experience as my modeling skill will become more complex. Also, the user will be driving on the right side instead. All you left-seat pilots, get ready and get use to it. Grin

What is your progress right now?

I am currently gathering technical info and photos of the Nissan. I'm surprised to see a ton of photos about this car. This will be really helpful when making the interior model and 2D panel.

What tools will you use?

Gmax - Visual model/animations/exporting
Paint Shop Pro 9 - Texxtures/Alphas/Lightmaps
FS Panel Studio - self explanatory
FS Sound Studio - Programing sounds
MP3 Maker Pro - Recording and editing sounds
DXTBmp - converting textures

I saw many photos of it on the internet. With practice, I might be able to pull it off.

This has got to be the most resourceful and dedicated website I have ever seen. This site has every engle of every part of the Nissan ever conceived.

I also found this 3-view image. You can't find anything more detailed and helpful than this image.

Man! Did I pick the right car to work on or what?

Update:

For this project, I'm starting differently. Prior to starting on the visual model, I will first make the textures for the interior and then start the model. Using the photos that were gathered from the internet, I managed to put together a very good set of photoreal textures using Paintshop Pro.

To keep things simple, there will be at least three separate texture files for the Nissan. Two for the interior, and one for the exterior. However, these files will be big [1024x1024 pixels]. The exterior texture will be based on the same concept as the Ferrari's main surface texture. And thanks to the extensive photos [most of them are very good close-ups], the texture will be detailed.

So far, I have already completed the first texture file.

Nice can't mess this car up, known as a legend to the Japenese race car drivers and my favorite illegal import car. Good Luck Katau, I think the hardest part on this project for you is working on the smothness of the model, you may have to dump alot more polygons in this project as normal. Wink
