The Spitfire, just about the only people who didn't really play with them were the Japanese (mind you a couple of their pilots tried them whilst in Germany) Grin

Russian: Dang, haven't gotten around to flying one, so I'll post again when I fly one I like Wink

Japan: For some reason I love the Mitsubishi G4M2.

German: The Messerschmitt Bf-110G4/R3 with Schräge Musik feild modification. My favourite nachtjäger Smiley

Are we talking about specific CFS2 models here or is this just a “what’s your top WW2 aircraft” question?
Some of my top CFS2 add-on aircraft are:
Paul Rebuffat Spitfire XIVe closely followed by his MkIX.
Fox Four Sea Fury.
Krzysztof Malinowski P-47 Thunderbolt collection.

They did re-engine one Spitfire with a Daimler Benz lump which was the Schmittfire. All the others were crash landed models which they used for testing/demonstation purposes once they'd been patched up.
Here is a short article on the Schmittfire http://www.unrealaircraft.com/hybrid/spitfire.php

Boy it does not matter how much one has read or researched this war. There is always something new  that you never heard or knew before.

Thats what I like about posting a related but not a direct subject obout this program.

I feel sometimes we need a break from the technical questions and have a little fun with other types of post just for the fun of it.

What I meant when I made this post was for us members to include by Nationality witch plane you rather fly from each nation. regardless if they are from CFS2 or actual flyables planes.

Iam really not interested is evaluating one A/C modeler against another.

Now if you have favorite Modeler please include his plane. But do not to post any negative post about any modeler.

They all have done a great job to the best of their ability to improve this program for our benefit.

I did not now that Japanese pilots flew the Spitfire in Germany. Also did not know that the Germans developed a version of the Spitfire.

Thank God they where unable to reproduce them in any significant numbers because in my opinion in the long run it was a much better plane than the Bf109 or Fw190 ver where.

Did you guys know that the Japanese also flew some Bf109E in Japan donated by Germany for evaluation and that the Japanese did think much of the Bf109.

They gave it a poor evaluation. They thought it cockpit to restricted and its flying capabilities less than satifactory.

They also tested a Lag3 before the war. It was given to Japan by a Russian difector pilot. They thought it was such a bad fighter that after they tested it for a while.
They simply return it to Russia.

The Japanese where more impress with German Engines than with their planes. You figure?

Its fortunualy that Germany never tested Japanese planes and that they never combine their efforts. Can you imagine that. That would have been scary.

With Germany Superior engine technology and Japans better frame designers. They might have developed the Fighter to beat in World war two.

Just Imagine.

Thank you for the input Guys

Keep it coming

If there is one modeller I rate above all others for CFS2 planes it is Paul Rebuffat. His Spitfires are a delight, his 109s impressive and his Li-2 is unique. One of my CFS2 modelling heros!
