We should start a list of all the aircraft that we like to use during MP flights. Here is my list for FS9 MP:

1. all the CFS2 default aircraft [vintage section]
2. the PR Bf109G-10 [vintage section]
3. OV-1D [military section]
4. the still-new Gmax F1 [military section]
5. B-17 Ack-Ack Annie [vintage]
6. My favorite P-38 [you all know which one - I use it to chase Nemo]
7. Northrop N-9 Flying Wing
8. F4U7-Corsair
9. Sea Hurricane Mk Ib

I'm not a fan of those huge planes like the Antonov. However, I have my sights on that Payware C-130. Wink

EDIT: Note that all the aircraft in my list are strictly from SimV. This makes it easier to find them.

good idea!  Also, if you are going to fly in a pre planned mp, tell us on the forum here what you plan on flying, so those who want to see the right plane can download it.

I think that payware should be avoided.  But If you are going to use it, start out with default ie if you are flying the PMDG 737 start with the default one, then switch

Which P-51 would that be? Once I download that, I'll almost have everything on the list, bar the Vulcan Sad

Agreed.

One of the potential issues with using complex payware aircraft (and complex freeware ones too) is that it can severely impact framerates.  If you HAVE the complex aircraft in your "hangar" on your own machine, the sim will use that aircraft to display the other person or people.

If you have a lot of people flying multiplayer, all in close proximity, your computer is then keeping up with a LOT of polygons and such.  Sort of like using, say, the PMDG stuff for AI planes.  Wink   Multiplayer data exchange is enough of a slowing factor without adding more into the mix.

That is why VATSIM has a setup that makes only low poly, framerate frendly representations of the other aircraft show up on your machine.

And if you then fly real world weather....and it is cloudy...... that can be the "final straw" to make things a slide show.

best,

.........john
