Hi all

i'm just wondering Why all the cfs are about ww2??, i really will love see a ww1, or korea, if they dont want get in the moderns field  Roll Eyes, or if the want, a desert storm 1, or the Yom Kipur, or the Malvinas war (falklands) something like that.

Am I dreaming or it could be possible some day????

There might be some post Korea era fast movers around but the truth of the matter is once you get into the very high transonic range the CFS3 flight model sucks so modern jets are pretty much arcade flyers

Blimey, Charlie's in the CFS3 forum, not  a first, but close to it.

I think the reason MS has stuck to WWII is its assured global "appeal". More modern wars are certainly more limiting, and have a smaller potential user base. Indeed in the case of the Falklands there was a sim under development, but I don't know of its current progress. Certainly I personally struggle to see how there would be too much of a general market for it outside the UK (other than by commited aviation enthusiasts/simmer -  it wouldn't appeal to the average person). The same argument could apply to a Yom Yippur based sim, or the Suez conflict.

WWI has been done relatively successfully on more than one occasion, and Mig Alley was quite a hit a few years back.

The other issue would possibly be political sensitivity - I don't really think releasing a game based around events in and around the Gulf region in the past 15 years would be prudent as this time with the conflict still ongoing (although, admittedly its been done)

Plus the fact that WWII was the only war in which there were decent aircraft through out makes it perfectly obvious why M$ never bothered to expand. Grin

Unless you have CFS2 WW&C won't be of any use to you, nor will Fox Four. Fox Four has completed some campaigns whereas WW&C is still going.

The scenery for the WW&C airfields is very, very beautiful 8) Will we complete before OFF does? Wink

Cheers
