I can't. Found them, installed them per instructions, compiled, everything I can think of (not that I'm a whiz at AI, I'm fairly new to it), but still no helicopter traffic.

Anybody else?

Yes.
I have various AI helo packages which work as advertised. Basically it's :

"Installation
Install all the AI helos from the download.zip files as per the instructions. Place the flightplan, airport and aircraft.txt files in the TTools folder of your choice. Compile the plans using TTools. Ensure the title in the aircraft.txt file matches that in the aircraft.txt file in the applicable helo folder. Copy the AF2 AFCAD files into the \Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\Scenery folder. Start FS9 and you should have AI helos sharing the skies with you."

Yes, I've read that several times, looking for what on Earth I could've done wrong. I'll go through it again this weekend.

Which helo pack to you (try to) use? Holger Sandemann's seem to work pretty good and last a long time.

New member here.
I have more than a hundred ai helis flighing now, The latest is the C47 Chinnook. I acheived this by useing Holger Sandersons AI Heli files, and many thanks to Holger for his magnificent work' on the Stemmglider conversions to aihelis. I'll be happy to give you all the help that I can. So just message me' if you need too. I will put the chinnok up as a picture for all to see once I have a good pic. Some of the ai helis are now my screensaver.

Yes, I am using Holger Sandmann's files, plus Rob Nieuwenhoven's files to make the AI helis work in FS9.

Frankly, I'm at wit's end. Last night, I used a program to edit the .air files of a couple of the AI helis so that they would show up in my aircraft menu. But when I started FS9 and went to pick those helis from the list, all I got was a black screen where the preview of the heli should have been rotating.

It must be something obvious that I'm overlooking. As I've said before, I'm no expert at AI traffic, but this has me stumped.

I will be online late evenings this weekend aussie time GMT+10
Have you downloaded the aihelli pack from the scenery pages and the additional aiheli 1-7 heli downloads' if so then you are well on your way with ai helis flying.
Thats the way that I got started and haven't looked back. You will need AFCAD, and TTools by Lee Swordy. They are a must. They are in the Scenery Designe pages. Also Fsuicp, Dotnet,and XMll4 from Microsoft.
If you wish to fly the Helis yourself' install them into your aircraft folder first' but make sure to place a copy on your desktop' ready to convert too AI. Will give you all the help with the ai traffic txt files.

How are you going with the ai heli's If you are still having problems message me. Don't give it away. This dumb 67 year old' who has only been into computers for 2.3years' because, he's a frustrated grounded polit, has done it' so i'm sure that anyone with the interest can. If you have got them going still message me and I,ll let you know of some of the extra helis that I have downloaded, and are now flying ai. I use Holgers files, and say many thanks too Holger for his great work in converting the stemglider files too helicopters. Without his 'Fantastic work' then i would not have the Helicopters flying as AI.
