Hello,

could someone please tell me where i can get a tutrial on makeing Effects for Flightsim9?

I would also like to know if anyone could tell me what i have to do to get started on makeing a new panel and guages. tutrial or sdk etc.

and what programs i need to make the panels and gauges?

Hey, 2242.  I don't know if this program works for 2k4, but you might want to check out CfgEdit.  Its a freeware panel creator that was built with FS2000 in mind, but it worked for FS2k2 as well.  The main problem is that it doesn't recognize XML gauges, which I believe 2k4 uses a LOT of.

Let me warn you, making effects files is no simple task. Neither is it a quick one. You might find yourself going back and forth between the effects you're working on and the tutorial you are reading from.

Before you ask, don't ask me how do you start. I don't know diddly squat about effects files [I only know how to link them to an addon]. Tongue

Yeah katahu i know these things are never simple Cry
but if you keep at it they seem to become simple Smiley

I got CFS3 i got it today could anyone tell me what i need for gmax to export my model so i can add it to CFS3 and CFS3 is set up differently to FS2004 aircraft files how do i set my aircraft's folder up?

The key to understanding effects files is knowing what parameter produces what visible effect in the sim. There's no quick way through it, I'm afraid. You don't need any special software (Notepad will edit .fx files perfectly well) but you do need to get familiar with the file construction. The Effects SDK will help, but you'll need to get your hands dirty by playing around with one and seeing what the changes you make actually do.
