Another fun flight tonight as we wend our way week by week across the USA.

Started powering up about 2 hours before dusk with real world weather set....... heading from Penn Yan in New York state to Knapp State Airport near Montpelier, Vermont.

In the first shot, I'm trailing Jared and mynameisnemo (the man who never sleeps!) as we head into the 30+ knot headwind that plauged us most of the way.

...

Through some playing around I managed to catch up to Jared and we flew some of the flight in close proximity to each other.

...

The clouds were rather nice for this flight, and we were constantly in and out of VFR and IFR conditions.  Here Jared is 9 O' Clock high on me.

...

As we neared out destination in northern Vermont, the clouds built up.  Here mynameisnemo and Stormtrooper (Jeff) are playing "peek-a-boo" back in the clouds and setting sun.
look for the red ID names

...

For a brief moment about 5 minutes before landing we all slammed into serious IFR conditions as the clouds closed in.  It looked bad for a few seconds as you can tell by nemo's comments in this shot.

...

But shortly we broke thru the clouds and they became scattered as we neared the airport.  Here, if you look close, you can see Katahu "stealing the runway" from nemo  Wink.

...

Here I am managing to put it down pretty much on the centerline.... but I floated it on the flare  Tongue.

...

And as the sun sets.... we are collecting out charts and shutting down the aircraft.  Another successful flight.

...

Join us next Saturday.

best,

....john

Thanks for the kind words....

For the next flight, see if you can find the free version of the FSGenesis terrain mesh for the northeast.  I think it is still available.  it makes a BIG difference in the northern New England Mountains from the default Microsoft stuff.

I have the payware version installed.... but I think they are VERY similar........ just some cleaned up "bad data" in the payware version.  I used to have the freeware version........... which is what got me interested in the FSGenesis stuff to start with.

best,

.................john
