The best 5 bucks Ive ever spent! (Read 300 times)

I bought Strike Fighters yesterday, and it was the best 5 dollars Ive ever spent!  This game is truly amazing!  The graphics are pretty good, the cockpits and planes look wonderful, effects are okay, and the ground...well...good enough.  The thing is that the graphics look pretty good, but it runs really smoothly.  This is the first modern combat game Ive had, so even though the flying is there, I still have to get used to the weapons, but Im starting to and actually getting good.

I think that if you need a game to have for those 10 minute breaks, or need to blow up something every now and then, get struke fighters.  I know that some people will say that its not as good as lomac, but lomac costs 30 dollars, so go for bargain and get strike fighters.

Screenshots may come later....

I got it at circuit city.  It came in a jewel case.  I don't know if it is different from sf when it was new, but it came with 1 area, 14 planes (not all flyable) and a bunch of weapons.

PS:  I just finished flying around in an instant battle, had two dogfights last 10 minutes+!  IT was so frustrating cause I was so close, and then missed!

It's all about skill in dogfights. And finding out how the missiles work.

If your in a true dogfight you're too close to use missles, gotta use the guns.

In modern warfare, especially with the new American Air Superiority fighters, if you got in a dogfight, you screwed up. Reminds me of my time in ATF when I was in an eagle and ran out of missles against a MiG-29, got in a scissors at about  500-1000ft, he didnt have enough power to get back out when I disengaged at the deck. Wish I had a good combat sim. Maybe Ill see if I can get ATF or Agressor working again.

Well, if you're in close for a dogfighting in SF.
You've pretty much screwed yourself, unless you're in an A-4.

Nice! By the way I bought IL2:Sturmovik for the $10 amount at my gamestore. And LOMAC for $15. I need to get the nice leather bound manual though, the built in tutorials are not as extensive as I would have liked...  Smiley

I picked up Strike Fighters for $7 about a year ago. A worthy investment. Tongue
