Im trying to clone and mirror a wing that is fully animated, with retratctable landing gear and flaps. What I want to do is copy a whole left wing, w/animations ect. and clone and mirror it to make it the right wing w/the same animations, without making new animations for the right wing, could this work.....and how?

thnx

You can clone the parts, etc., but the animations will (most probably) be screwed up.

I suggest that AFTER you clone the parts and mirror them, get rid of the animations of the cloned parts and redo them. There is a reason:

A lonely animated object that has been cloned might rotate or move in a not-so-mirrored manner as it should [ex: left landing gear - that's suppose to move forward - moves backwards instead].

A object that is linked and cloned to an animated object might move or rotate in relation to the OLD object and NOT the cloned object. [ex: a door handle - used for the left door - might moved whenever the right door opens even if the left door is stationary].

So again, redo the animations for the newly cloned objects and remove their links as well. Then start animating them again. Try it, you might save a few aspirins. Grin

i DO mirror cloned parts, most of the time ,but keep in mind that you will have to edit, rotations and pivot points will remain as the original object they dont mirror as they should , so you get into them and fix 'em right , is not much trouble, exmpl:if an original part has a rotation y the Y axis to -5º key 0, and 10º key 100, your simetrical clone editing your keyframe will be 5º key=0 and -100º key=100 also.
if your original pivot has XYZ= 0.0,5.0,0.0 (degrees), your clone edited pivot should be like XYZ=0.0,-5.0,0.0 (degrees) and so... and so... 8)
