<G>

First, set your file hierarchy in the Aircraft folder of FS2004

Aircraft;
->myaircraft
---->Model
---->Panel
---->sound
---->texture

Then set your export path in gmax to ....\myaircraft\model

basially, you want your myaircraft.MDL file to reside in the MODEL folder.

In addition to what Felix just said you will also need to make do certain things to the aircraft.cfg file in order for the visual model to appear in FS. There is a tutorial that gives detailed information about the related dynamics files [aircraft.cfg and myaircraft.air files]. I believe it is in the tutorial section of SimV.

Do this to the files and be aware that the files are case-sensitive:

example:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\Place_Name_Here\

Sub folders and files of Place_Name_Here:

Model folder
--->Place_Name_Here.mdl
--->Model.cfg --->[models]
                           normal=Place_Name_Here

Outside of model folder:
--->Place_Name_Here.air
--->Aircraft.cfg--->[fltsim.0]
                            title=Place Whatever Name Here Paint 01
                            sim=Place_Name_Here
                            ui_manufacturer=Whatever Company
                            ui_type=Whatever Type of Aircraft
                            ui_variation=Variation of the aircraft

That is as simple as I can put it. From there, the headaches begin.
