Here are a couple of engines that I recently load tested at work.  They are a couple of Caterpillar 3516B Gensets.  They produce 2000kw of electrical power which makes the engines rated at nearly 3000hp !!!!  These bad boys burn close to 150 gallons of diesel fuel per hour     I had to run these for 12 hours straight under load  The customer bought 4 of these monsters.  And they are just for backup power !!! 



The white trailer off to the side is the loadbank I used to test the engines.  The expensive looking muffler bracket was used to keep the neigbors happy.  They are very loud without the muffler on

the firewall isn't all that needs to be fixed.  Your better off strapping the plane to the engine
