Everything is dangerous. The FAA probably allowed this either because someone handed them a large bag of money, or because they figure that the pilots know its dangerouse and are prepared to take that chance.

Looking at the actual series website, it appears the aircraft are no more than the rocket powered Rutan Vari-eze (type thing) - Vne about 195kts... Smiley
