I'm not doing any ai traffic work for a while (not until I finish messing around with various sets of scenery and AfCad files) but can anyone tell me what a general rule could be to set departure times on Ttools?  How long after the filed departure time does the plane actually a) back away from the gate, or b) takeoff?  Thanks for your help

There are a few actors involved GENERALLY in your answer, some being,
AI traffic is set in INTERNATIONAL TIME aka ZULU. Find out how much variation is in hours +/- between your departure airport and LONDON. (ex noon in LONDON is 7am in NEW YORK) BTW, TTOOLS will compile and enter the arrival times for you.

When Fs is activated with AI TRAFFIC on all departures/arrivals that were scheduled for that airport, within 15 mintes of fire up time should start.

How long it takes to "TAKEOFF" is reliant on the amount of traffic there is and how far away from the active rwy the plane is.

Oh.  Because one time I set in a flight plan, and I went to the airport and actually watched that plane sit at the gate for 30+ minutes after it's "departure" time.
