Go to

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore Icon

It will give you two options on the upper right-hand corner. The first option should be selected already and click next.

After that, a calender should appear. Select the month and date of your last restore point or any restore point.

Tip: It is always best to manually create a restore point PRIOR to doing something major to your computer [ex: system changes, things of that nature] by going to the first page where you saw the two options on the upper right corner and select Create Restore Point and click next. From there, instructions will be given to you.

Hmm, seems like maybe the upgrade currpted current install as 1.0.7 works fine for me.

Try uninstalling firefox via add/remove and reinstall 1.0.7 from scratch. Make sure to backup your bookmarks.

BTW, I recommend you use 1.0.7 as it contains some security patches (yes, even firefox need these).

Close it with the task manager (CTRL-ALT-DELETE).

Highlight firefox.exe and click the "end process" button.

That's one reason I always use .zip packages over executable installers when they are available.

Possible fixes:

- Completely uninstall FF, including manually deleting Program Files/Mozilla Firefox and your profile (or just move your profile  if you want to try to salvage some things from it later).

- Give Task Manager more time to close the program and click on End Process a couple more times.

- Close other non-essential services and applications.

Yeah try a fresh install and re download the file your download might be corrupt.
Also be certain to run a spyware scan!
You wouldn't have got anything from Firefox but some other browser hijacker may be the casue of the problem Wink
