I've been getting the EXACT same popup.  And another one also.  It happens ONLY on Simviation, on the main page, only in the past few weeks.  It does not occur on any other website.  It also does not occur when going in through the Simviation index page, by the way.  It doesn't persist, one click and it's gone until next time.  I reported this to the webmaster, his suggestion was to log in through the log in menu (I had another unrelated minor problem there but haven't had time to think about it).  It is a nuisance, but the bigger concern is that of a possible virus, even though my Norton scans have not turned up anything.  Anybody else getting this popup?  Is this popup safe?  Thank you, Apex

That was my biggest worry too a virus. Sounds to me like the webmaster is either shrugging it off or simply doesn't care about his website. Especially when he knows about it.  It is his responsibility to make sure the site is maintained in a safe manner for all users and should know what is infultrating their site. If he cannot do the job he should give it away and they should get someone else to do it that knows what he is doing. if it wasn't for the support from its users of this website it wouldn't exist.

Heya all,

I have also been plagued by this popup for the last week or so.  It also seems that sometimes when you close out the Simviation main webpage to go elsewhere (to a different webpage) this script error window pops up:

...

I'm no webmaster, however, this script error could be related to the annoying popup that you get when you first access the main Simviation homepage.

Maybe if enough people complain the management and the webmaster might do something.

We very much care about the ads on this site & try to ensure at all times that no invasive ads are displayed.

The one exception is that 'what would you like me to say?' ad - because there has been a majority of feedback that people have a lot of fun with it - so I've left that one in place.

You won't find a virus in our ads - In fact I've never heard of an ad carrying a virus. We go to all lengths to ensure that none of our ads contain spyware. If ever found they are promptly removed. It is very rare & I have NEVER known that we have had one.

About this one - I'm not sure what advertiser this is & have not had it myself. I have checked through the ads & so far have found nothing. There is sometimes a problem as ads are farmed out to 3rd & 4th parties & are location specific - but these ads are usually relatively harmless & are removed as 1000's of folk around sites where these ads run will complain quickly.

I assure you these are safe ads & inconvenient ads are removed when found.

I strongly disagree pete. This popup in my opinion has nothing to do with advertising. How can a window with a 1 on it have to do with an ad
... If it is an ad what is it advertising? If we have to put up with popups at least they should be real advertising. This is just a nuisence and should be removed.

Once I trace where it's coming from it will be removed.

Like I said - I'm looking into it -

Please be calm & patient.

Pete to make it easier to find i normally enter the simviation site through a bookmark with the following URL http://www.simviation.com/menu.html then in a few seconds this window pops up. Can you please post it on this thread when the issue is resolved?
Thanks FS_Pilot
