Autopilot landing (Read 506 times)

I love YaBB 1G - SP1!

How do you get autopilot to land by itself?  ??? ??? ???
Any help would be appreciated.

The quick answer is that you can't.

The longer answer is that you might be able to find an autoland gauge if you dig through a few libraries.  I've never had any need for one, myself.

I recall that FS98 had an autoland feature but you had to have your NAV1 radio engaged on the ILS, be properly lined up and switch APP HOLD on.  If you do that you don't need an autoland feature - hit the threshold in your C172 at 90 knots, kill the power and you will land as smooth as a Tiger Woods birdie putt.

David Maltby's VC-10 and Trident both have good autoland capability, although like Webb said, I prefer to do it myself.

Thanks guys you have been a great help. Where can I get the David Maltby's VC-10 and how do I autopilot land with that or is it the same as Webb said?

Funny, i had the same question here a few months ago, i never used to land properly, but after understanding how it really works, i learnt to land perfectly after a few days of practice but autopilot control.
