Ok, here's the deal:

I've got Jane's USAF, great game in my opinion, one of the best modern fighter games ever. I have just installed it on my computer (P4 2.8 GHz 512 RAM GeForce 4 Ti4200, XP) and having a few glitches:

- I can't access any pop-down menu, i.e. to change my resolution, aircraft type for quick missions etc.

- The preferences section will not come up. I click on it, the harddrive is doing something, then stops and when I click the screen again I get that rude error noise and the game freezes so I have to shut it down from Task Manager.

Now obviously I understand that this thing wasn't designed for XP, but is there any way of fixing these issues cuz I just love the game  Roll Eyes

AFAIK, the Jane's series doesn't work with XP without some issues. Most are unplayable -- at least the one's I've tried.

The 'win98 compatibility' mode in XP does not work, so I have no ideas how to get them to play other than install Win98 on another drive/partition.
