About a year and a half ago I decided to use a large Fresnel lens and monitor in my little cockpit.

After quite a bit of looking around for a Fresnel lens I found this one.

As some of you already know I scrounged up a 21" monitor and ordered one of these Lenses.

Is it slick!

I have already had the lens and monitor set up and have to say it works and looks pretty nice.

The 3D effect is unbelievable!

Anyone looking for a nice way to add a view screen to there sim take a good look at this thing.

The lens has an aluminum frame around it and is easy to handle but great care must be taken not to mark the lens when you’re handling and installing it.

I made up a frame for the lens out of 3/4"x1.5" fir to sit the lens in cut the slots 3/16" wide and 1/4 deep dropped in the lens. Set the monitor about 6 " behind it and bingo. I also framed in the monitor face and have began installing side top and bottom shields between the lens and monitor.

I haven't had much of a chance to use it but what time I have impressed me!
